Licensing & Permissions
Free to learn from. Selected code is open source. The original educational and visual content stays copyrighted.
This site is an open-access educational project, not a fully open-source one. Everything here is free to read, and you are welcome to link to it, quote it, and learn from it. What is not granted is the right to take the material wholesale — the tutorials, the analogies, the Healshu character, and the illustrations are original work and remain copyrighted.
If you are a student, teacher, or researcher wondering whether your use is fine: it very likely is, and the two lists below should answer it. If in doubt, just ask — permission for academic and classroom use is usually granted quickly.
You may
- Read and share links to any page, freely
- Quote brief excerpts in a paper, thesis, course, or social media post, with attribution and a link
- Use the ideas and methods you learn here in your own research and writing
- Fork code components that carry an explicit open-source license
- Open an issue or pull request to correct or improve something
You may not
- Reproduce a whole page or a whole tutorial elsewhere
- Reuse the Healshu character, illustrations, or animations
- Redeploy this site under another name or brand
- Sell the content as a course, ebook, or paid membership
- Include the tutorials in a commercial dataset or AI training corpus
- Use the visual assets to train models or derive new characters
- Republish any of it with the attribution removed

The authoritative text is LICENSE.md in the site repository. Where a directory carries its own license file, that file wins for the files inside it.
Asking for permission
For teaching use, translation, republication, or anything beyond brief quotation, email xinru.reina.qiu@gmail.com with what you would like to use and where it will appear. Non-commercial academic and classroom use is usually granted.
